Sharing Excess is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that diverts food surplus to address food insecurity on college campuses and in the Philadelphia area. I am currently leading the Campus team, where I manage existing chapters and work with University administrations to broaden and strengthen food insecurity initiatives on college campuses. I also assist in program development to streamline the expansion of our network to other universities. Previously, I founded the first chapter of Sharing Excess at Drexel University, and served as their President for 2 years. In the first 6 months, we were able to donate over 2000 meal swipes and recover over 1000 lbs of food. Before that, I worked for 6 months as an Engagement Coordinator for Sharing Excess to help plan events, with a specific focus to incorporate Sharing Excess into Drexel’s Greek Life organizations.
