      I was working with FML as Marine Superintendent in Quality and Safety department. My role included the responsibility to ensure that the vessels are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory bodies, that company policies and procedures were being followed and to monitor and support all vessels on marine and operational issues.My role was also to ensure vessels’ compliance with all International marine requirements and liaise with the vessels in safety and health, quality, security and environmental matters. The department as a whole had been assigned to assure compliance with the ISM Code and the company’s SMS . This included performing regular ship visits for ISM and ISPS Internal audits and preparation of vessel for external audits; aim was to achieve zero LTA and to ensure compliance with all HSE regulatory requirements at all times, report all non-conformities to the management and ensure effective corrective and preventive action is implemented and recorded; I was also involved in near miss analysis and investigation into accidents and prepare the incidents report for all injuries/incidents ,making sure the root cause of the incident is addressed and to coordinate with relevant authorities for follow up action. I was also involved in providing regular training to the crew and senior officers onboard on effective safety practices and standards.
