Canine Mobility LLC is the manufacturer and worldwide distributor of the Anti-Knuckling Device for dogs. The Anti-Knuckling Device is a canine rehabilitation tool for dogs suffering from knuckling caused by various forms of spinal trauma. Canine Mobility was founded and is owned by Jeff VerHoef.Jeff is foremost an animal lover with a passion for dogs. In 2011, his then 11-year-old Irish Setter, Reilly, underwent spine surgery after having collapsed while playing at a dog park. An MRI showed he had nerve compression in his lower lumbar spine that required surgery. After being confined for two months to recover from his surgery, he began dragging his right hind leg and knuckling on his right paw. "Knuckling" and "knuckling over" are terms that refer to loss of proprioception in dogs. After months of physical therapy, treatment with steroids and other medications, acupuncture, underwater treadmill therapy, and trials of the available devices promoted as being beneficial for treating knuckling, Reilly continued to knuckle. Unwilling to accept that Reilly would continue to be subjected to pain while doing something that he loved, Jeff set out to make a custom paw strap and elastic shock cord apparatus for Reilly that would help to reduce or eliminate his knuckling. The result of these efforts is what is now known as the Canine Mobility Anti-Knuckling Device. With the help of the Anti-Knuckling Device, Reilly’s last few years were spent enjoying his twice daily walks, trips to the park, smelling the grass and just being outdoors. Since Reilly’s passing in 2014, Jeff has made it his personal quest to continue Reilly's legacy by making the Anti-Knuckling Device available to dog owners who have had similar experiences. To date, hundreds of dogs from around the US and Canada and places as far away as Australia, Chile, Germany, Japan and the UK have benefitted from the Anti-Knuckling Device.
