      To move forward into the next phase of critical risk, we need to stop focusing on the 'risk' and start focusing on the 'controls' (thanks Todd Conklin). Westland has given me the honor of leading culture change in the Critical Risk space of the Safety world. My mission looks like this: Are the controls critical or just a control? Are the controls 'safety clutter' or 'safety bureaucracy' or real controls that reduce risk? Do the people who do the work and see the problems and the people who can help solve the problem have the power to do so? Are we getting out of work as we imagined in it's happening in the office to getting into work as done in the feild controlled to fail safely? Am I guiding Just Culture and making a psychologically safe environment to share ideas and speak up? Am I fostering socratic thinking and respectful challenge of status quo? Am I continuing to be a 'health and safety myth buster' ? There's no one way to do this and I'm going to need help. Let's go Westland Milk! We can do this! Show less
