      My position enabled me to educate Grade 1 children with international school methods focused on developing phonics with interactive games, reading comprehension led by discussion, and writing by developing the senses and creating a clear picture for the reader. My position as a grade 2 teacher let me delve into three different world cultures following the reading books of the programme. We discovered new vocabulary while exploring the various folklores and environments. A joint project with the Visual Arts teacher brought the creation of the students' own storybooks which they created in pairs, containing their own illustrations and book covers. Another joint project with the science teacher let the students create their own "potion" based on the practice of one of the storybooks' characters. This interactive learning style has sparked a keener interest in language learning that will make a deeper impression on the students at an early stage. Show less
