After successfully supporting SB & Company, LLC by managing and growing the practice during and since the pandemic, I’m ready to use my skill set outside of my home and in my new community! I managed the Emerging Entities Services (EES) practice of SB & Company, LLC. EES addresses the accounting and operational needs of nonprofit organizations by supporting them in building strong financial foundations and strengthening their financial stability for longstanding impact. EES serves over 100 organizations who provide a wide variety of services to the community, including local organizations who are affiliates of national organizations. I used my knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and provided a wide variety of services to my clients, with the most common services being compilations, audits, and taxes. A commonality of my clients, other than serving the greater good, is that their resources often did not support their accounting needs. As a result, I worked directly with the accounting personnel of those organizations to resolve their accounting issues and questions around revenue recognition, net asset classification, proper accounting for investments, endowments, property and fixed assets, allocation methodologies of expenses, and how to implement effective internal controls, as examples. External Chief Financial Officer / Controller experience includes business process and internal controls development and implementation, chart of accounts setup, monthly balance sheet reconciliations (QBD/QBO), quarterly financial reporting and closes, accounting for grants, investments and fixed assets, audit preparation, annual budgeting, interim reporting with cash projections, forecasting, and various ratio analysis.
