I worked on a wide variety of projects for the first half of my co-op then in the second half of my co-op I was pulled into a project to write process instructions for the chassis modification and motor home assembly lines. One of my first big projects was to be the liaison for Gemba walks within our plant. I organized groups to go out and watch how things were being produced and then we had meetings to discuss what improvements we could make. On top of organizing and participating in these walks I was in charge of managing the timelines for the proposed improvement projects. I also did a lot of rack designing for storing and transporting materials and parts in our plant efficiently, This required me to be proficient in product design, CAD modeling with Siemens NX, and good communication with the workers using the racks and the workers building the racks to ensure that the racks would work and could be built. Finally for the 2nd half of my co-op and my current work. I write process instructions for line workers. This required me to have great communication with the workers on the line doing these processes as well as the manufacturing engineers that work on the processes in these areas. It also required me to be able to write procedures that can be understood by a wide array of workers. Show less
