In this role, I cataloged both accessions into and deaccessions from the museum's permanent collection according to international standards using open source cataloguing software. This included writing EAD-encoded and DACS-compliant metadata. I also wrote the museum's policies for Collections Care, Collection Documentation, Exhibition, and to address Archival Backlog, and compiled and written the museum's application for accreditation under the Museum Standards Programme for Ireland. I also managed weekly projects for five undergraduate interns. Finally, I have created and managed projects for the full span of the archival life cycle and left in place legacy policies and practices so that the museum could continue the highest level of archival management in the absence of a trained archivist. As a fellow with the Folger, I completed a cataloging project to rectify discrepancies between internal catalogs and external finding aids, which required paleographical understanding of secretary hand. I also researched and wrote blog post on archival silences in the collection based on the institutional archive. From this research, I also wrote a new Statement on Inclusive Language for the Folger's ArchivesSpace Public User Interface. Finally, I was also able to join an Exhibitions Working Group to help design Special Collections exhibition and to assist with Researcher Services LibAnswers fulfillment. Show less

At the Dumbarton Oaks Rare Books Library, I catalogued a large collection of analog and born-digital images with EAD-compliant descriptive metadata. With the institution's education and outreach department, I designed an archives-based curricular support materials for DC Public Schools visits to the museum, DCPS Social Studies Standards, and AP United States History. During my three years at Amherst, I managed the Digital Collections Instagram account and oversaw its 400% increase in followers and integrated posts with the Emily Dickinson Collection. I also curated, designed, and mounted exhibition in library based on the digital collections that I used for this Instagram account. In the first two years of my employment, I digitized items from the archives using overhead cameras and CaptureOne software, and performed quality control on captured images using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I also contributed several posts to Amherst College Digital Collections blog, including an interview that shined light on the collaboration between the TV show "Dickinson" and the digital archive.
