Long Term Substitute Teacher: Special Education Preschool/ECEAP
-
Dec 2001 - Jun 2002
As a long term substitute in the ECEAP/Special Education classroom, I created and implemented instruction for two separate classes of preschoolers based on my knowledge of child development and the students' diverse, individual needs. Observation and assessment of students' abilities helped to shape learning targets. In addition, some students' exceptional needs required the creation and implementation of IEPs. I worked collaboratively with other ECEAP teachers to plan and implement appropriate instruction for students. Our goal was to provide a rich early learning environment for diverse learners. We focused specifically on early literacy, social, and mathematical skills. Building positive, nurturing relationships with students was crucial to ensuring learning success.
