Worked as a research assistant in C.A.B. Lab, a psychology research lab under the leadership of Dr. Brendan Rich, Catholic University of America's Psychology Master's Program and Interim Department Chair. During my time as a C.A.B. Lab research assistant, I had a variety of responsibilities and gained a great amount of experience and achievements in my field of study. Examples of some of my major responsibilities were as follows: - Perform on-campus psychological studies on volunteered members of the DC community and Catholic University students. After finishing a participants appointment, it was my responsibility to then gather the data collected during the study they had completed and enter it into a database. Data collected from these studies were later used by Catholic University faculty members and graduate students to further their progress in their research studies. - Work as a co-therapist with Dr. Colleen Cummings in Rockville, Maryland at an office called Alvord, Baker, & Associates, LLC that offers psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and other populations. There Dr. Colleen Cummings and I would facilitate a group-therapy program for 12-weeks following the guidelines of a cognitive-behavioral group intervention program developed and established by certified Ph.D. psychologists in which Dr. Brendan Rich had a partnership with. The program is called the Resilience Builder Program. In this program we held weekly group therapy sessions with two groups. Both groups were female, however one group was geared for middle school-aged adolescents, while the other was for elementary school-aged children. - Responsible for organizing, scoring, and entering in the data received from the Resilience Builder Program participants. The data entered was later used for analysis to evaluate the success, effectiveness, and overall results of the program that C.A.B. Lab administers across participating DMV schools and select therapeutic practices. Show less
