    • Android & Matlab Software Developer
      • Jul 2015 - Oct 2015

During a period after completing the Masters of Structural Engineering Degree at the University of Melbourne, to full-time employment, worked with the Department of Aggricultural Sciences on two software applications being used for research purposes. Updated an application designed for conducting group surveys on the Android OS in the domain of food/drink taste testing. The application would read in a csv file of the survey design, the applicaiton would display questions and record user response to an output file. The application also recorded the respondants face using the forward facing cameras to allow for future analysis. The application allowed the university to collect a much richer data set with low processing cost, thus enabling the research team to scale up sample sizes. Developement of Matlab tools which read in files from the sampling taken in the Android app and used tool-boxed Computer Vision techniques to extract additional metrics from the video for analysis by the research team. Application deployed on a parallel computer cluster at UoM.
