I worked with Cameron Scott on the FTTP rollout project. Cameron provided great insight regarding future issues we needed to consider as well as well needed input on the design documentation. Overall Cameron was approachable and was easy to have work completed and delivered on time.

Manage a team of fibre designers who work closely with Construction teams and Design Houses to ensure accuracy of the network inventory and provide in-build design solutions and support. Role also requires upscaling the design unit to match Swish's build aspirations and adding capabilities to further enhance our input. This includes the testing of new design tools, ways of working and contributing to the main design rules. • Senior Transformation Project Manager - Regulatory and Product Introduction
      • Oct 2019 - Oct 2021

PM role in the Strategy, Transformation & Planning unit within Fibre & Network Delivery. I worked on internal business optimisation and transformation projects whose aims are to help Openreach operations run more effectively and efficiently while delivering new products. Often this ties in with Ofcom regulated products. I lead multiple projects looking into Openreach's operational strategy for optical products. This includes OSA Rings & Chains and bespoke P2P. I also initiated the project for Ethernet Cablelinks proposed move from legacy systems onto more advanced architecture .My first completed project within this team which was to design and implement the organisational and process structure required to successfully deliver the regulatory product Universal Service Obligation. This will provide people in the UK the right to request a improved and affordable broadband connection. Under the USO, eligible homes and businesses will be able to request a connection, where the cost of building it is no more than £3,400 (Gap Funding is an option) For the USO, Government has defined minimum download speed of 10 Mbit/s, and an upload speed of 1 Mbit/s upload. Activities that are part of this project are reporting MIS, Governance, Operational stand up and readiness and E2E process design. USO went live via soft launch on 20th March and i continued to seek improvements and efficiencies to the process to enable successful delivery for the business, our customers and to meet our regulatory obligations. • Chief Engineers Office - Technology Delivery Manager
      • Feb 2017 - Sep 2019

Working for the Chief Engineer arm in Openreach delivering FTTP in Scotland as part of the Fibre Cities programme. This was focused in Edinburgh as the lead city. My role also covers Community Funded Partnerships, Ethernet and high-level escalations.Me and my team along with circa 30+ external partners under my influence, it was my role to ensure that FTTP surveys and planning were done as efficiently and accurately as possible. This ranges from testing new software and tools to cutting edge survey techniques along with building close working partnership with various onshore fibre partners and offshore planning partners. I am responsible for maintaining key stakeholders relationships with other regions, planning, finance and central teams that work together to build this fantastic FTTP network. During this time I onboarded 20+ trainees into the team along with upskilling copper surveyors to fibre surveyors. I lead specialised Openreach teams who were mobile designers using the latest technology to survey the network and provide solutions to problems and also led spine planners to enable a cost effective, efficiently designed spine network allowing not only current access network build but also future build capacity. On top of this I also covered other activities for Scotland CE such as training lead, reporting, van management and civils co-ordination. Show less
