Casual Duty Officer- relief cover if Duty Managers/ Officers are off on annual or sick leave. I am a key holder responsible for the opening/ closing up of the building and also for the smooth running of the day to day operations of the leisure centre when I am on shift as a Duty Officer. • Senior Ice Technician
      • Aug 2015 - Mar 2022

Within my role as a senior ice technician I am responsible for the maintenance of the ice surface for multiple ice sport disciplines such as curling, ice hockey and figure skating. This can be quite technical as each discipline requires a slightly different ice surface. Making curling ice is a very precise exercise that requires a lot of attention to be paid to many different variables. This being said it is very satisfying to create a good ice surface and see all our users happy and enjoying themselves. I am also responsible for making sure that the rink side, skate changing area and changing rooms are kept clean and tidy. I am also tasked with ensuring that all our users get the best experience from their time within the ice rink and making sure they are given the best customer service we can provide for them. • Lifeguard
      • Jan 2008 - Jul 2015

Pool lifeguard- starting off as a casual lifeguard covering holidays I soon moved into a part-time contracted position. Part of my role as a lifeguard was to ensure that the changing areas and poolside were cleaned to a high standard and that standard was maintained, to make sure that all the facility users were safe during their visit and to provide the best customer service possible. As I gained experience as a lifeguard I then became a relief shift leader. This gave me extra responsibilities as I oversaw the team that was on shift that day and I had to make sure that everything was running smoothly and people were where they should be when they needed to be there. During my time at Inverclyde Leisure I was also an occasional key holder which meant I had the responsibility of opening the building at the start of my shift when the regular member of staff was off on holiday.
