  CASA of Solano County advocates for abused, neglected, and other identified children within the court system, with the belief that every child is entitled to a safe and stable home.As an Court Appointed Special Advocate, I spent a number of hours per week with an assigned foster youth. Having a Court order allowed me to access school/doctor records, counseling, reports, request for extra curriculum activities. Most of my time went to getting to know a child and building a relationship. Observing the progress of each child allowed me to provide the courts with a quarterly report containing helpful suggestions in regards to the well being of that child. On a more personal level I am apart that child's most consistent support system: we hang out, talk, go out to eat, visit new places, allowing a kid to be a kid.
