Charted Scientific has developed a next-generation fluorescence imaging platform for the life sciences instrumentation market. Applications include highly sensitive analysis of proteins (immunoassays) and cells (cytometry) in liquid biological samples. The platform offers fully automated robotic sample handling and data analysis. Responsibilities include: • Overseeing hardware and software development • Developing image processing algorithms • Developing intellectual property (patent) portfolio • Marketing & business development in collaboration with VP of Sales & Marketing • Managing finances and investor relations • Negotiating key supplier agreements The company developed a proof-of-concept prototype and released a fully-functional beta product within a 2-year period of starting operations. Over that period the company filed 3 non-provisional and 5 provisional patent applications. Show less

Trillium CNG is a leading provider of compressed natural gas to fleets, with a focus on heavy-duty truck fleets that require high-performance solutions. Trillium offers complete fueling station design, construction, operation and maintenance services. My role included management of the manufacturing division, supply chain, and product development. Trillium CNG manufactures industrial equipment used in our fueling stations, including high pressure compressor packages, electrical panels, CNG dispensers, and various pieces of ancillary equipment. During my tenure, Trillium has launched the 7” Hydraulic Intensifier Compressor (HY-C). The product was designed to provide a fast-fill CNG refueling experience across multiple lanes. The primary benefit to the customer is a fast-fill experience that substantially reduces driver refueling time. The 7” HY-C is a natural extension of the 5” HY-C compressor package developed in 2011, but delivers fuel at up to 20 gallons per minute compared to 10 gallons per minute for the 5” HY-C. Other notable accomplishments for Trillium’s manufacturing and product development areas include: • Increased compressor manufacturing and packaging capabilities from 4/year to 50/year by outsourcing fabrication and assembly tasks. • A patent pending for mobile fueling system architecture. • A patent pending for a control algorithm related to the hydraulic intensifier compressor implemented in a programmable logic controller (PLC). Integrys Energy Services’ asset development group invests in renewable energy and clean energy infrastructure including solar photovoltaic, landfill gas, combined heat and power, and hydroelectric power generation. My role involved origination of investment opportunities in new assets and commercial management of the portfolio of operating assets. My accomplishments include origination of two solar photovoltaic projects totaling almost 2 MW of electric capacity and a total investment of approximately $10 million as well as originating sales of renewable energy credits totaling $6 million. I originated leads for, developed cash flow models of, and presented to senior management approximately 60 renewable energy investment opportunities per year. Show less

Element Markets develops, markets and trades environmental commodities (renewable energy credits, emissions credits, greenhouse gas credits, etc.). My work at Element Markets included developing biogas and landfill gas capture projects to create a supply of renewable energy credits and greenhouse gas emissions reductions credits. My accomplishments include: • Originated five landfill gas/renewable energy projects, including two projects that produce greenhouse gas emissions reductions (carbon credits). • Designed a program to implement anaerobic digestion/biogas projects at large-scale farms, resulting in options to develop projects at two facilities. Luminex Corporation (NASDAQ: LMNX) develops, manufactures and markets laboratory test equipment, reagents and software in the clinical diagnostic and life science markets. My responsibilities included primarily the development of prototype laboratory instruments and improvements to commercially released instruments. I worked on optical systems, fluid handling systems, and development of algorithms for machine automation and data processing. Other areas of responsibility included collaboration on an intellectual property strategy and evaluation of long-term supply contracts with strategic customers. My accomplishments include: • Prototyped the MAGPIX®, a compact CCD-based fluorescence imager that can process a plate of 96 assays in approximately one hour and detect up to 50 different analytes per assay. • Prototyped the FLEXMAP 3D®, a laser-based flow cytometer system that can process a plate of 96 assays in approximately 20 minutes and detect up to 500 different analytes per assay. • Developed the optical system used in the Luminex 100, Luminex’s original multiplexed assay reader. • Prototyped and commercially released the Luminex SD, a fluid handling system that automates delivery of sheath fluid to the Luminex 100. • Named as inventor on 5 issued and pending US patents. • Named Inventor of the Year in 2003.
