Writer
-
Oct 2013 - May 2016
•I have written a variety of articles dealing with a variety of topics under the "geek" banner, mostly video games but also looking at films and comic books. The writing enabled me to further develop my skills, building upon the review writing I had already done and also exploring more analytical writing, breaking down specific scenes in films for example. •Furthermore, due to the way in which the Geek Pride site operates, I have been given an amount of independence in my writing, article topics mostly being my own choice. This forced me to more actively focus on my writing and its direction as I had to be the one to come up with articles and properly develop them in order to fit a quota. Show less

•I have reviewed various gigs and albums, giving me an introduction to musical journalism and allowing me to develop writing skills into a new direction. •I also reviewed the Hard Rock Hell festival in 2012, the Hammerfest festival in 2013 and the Hard Rock Hell AOR festival in 2013, giving me further experience and making me focus on organisational skills when it came to writing. •The festival reviews also involved interviewing various bands giving me an experience of that side of journalism, with the need for efficient research and the requirement for maintaining a sense of professionalism Show less
