I am current studying Sound Production at HNC level. This course is broken down into 10 subjects, 6 of which are core subjects. So far i have passed 5 of these, and on track to pass the rest. The 10 subjects are : Acoustics - This involves learning about human hearing, and how sound reacts in different environments. Creative Industries Infrastructure - Learning about networking, funding, copyrights, and the more legal matters of the music industry. Graded Unit - This is the oppertunity to showcase and combine the skills that i have learned throughout this college course. Sound Production Theory - This teaches the theory behind recording, and techniques that can be used in it. Particularly microphone techniques, cabling, and effects. Sound Production Practice - This is essentially putting into practice what you have learned in Sound Production Theory, as well as teaching us about live sound, setting up a p.a, monitors, and mixing desks, then fault finding. Working in The Creative Industries - This teaches about Cv's, personal developement, contracts, and advertising. Multi-track Recording - In this i learned about recording in a studio environment, and for the exam i had to organize and record a band in a limited, with a minimum of 12 tracks. Multi-track Mixing - This subject is essentially mixing and mastering a recording. Teaching how to get the best sound out a recording. D.A.W - In this i got my ProTools 101 certificate, and learned how to use audio software, audio interfaces, and midi inputs. Sound Reinforcement - This invovles live sound, finding faults, and setting up p.a for a band. Very similar to sound production practice but for this the exam invovles being put in a real life sound situation. Show less
