Working with Caitlyn was an absolute joy. She was extremely professional and excellent at helping students with technology issues, problem solving and smoothing out sometimes confusing questions/situations. She also got back to students and co-workers quickly and was all around excellent to work with.

I first came to know Caitlyn as a Student Ambassador, while working beside her at our numerous prospective student events, such as Experience Madison College (EMC's), campus tours and Advising and Registration (A&R's) events. I have had the pleasure of working alongside students for over 20 years at Madison College and I have never been as impressed by a student worker as I was with Caitlyn, her ability to plan, organize, and communicate are just a few that make her a leader in the hospitality and event planning field! I quickly aligned myself with Caitlyn in conversation to help and mentor this amazing young student who possessed skills well beyond her years, and on that fateful day that she walked in our Recruitment and Community Engagement office with her resume in hand, my colleague and I stopped everything and gave her an interview and hired her on the spot! While working along side Caitlyn in Recruitment my admiration for her skills and abilities continued to astonish me. With very little training because of her background as an Ambassador and her natural abilities and gifts she brought with her from her previous leadership roles in the College, not only as an Ambassador but also a member of our distinguished Alpha Theta Kappa organization. Caitlyn quickly, effortlessly and flawlessly completed her task and assignments with her excellent organization skills and abilities to work independently and as a team, all while never missing an opportunity to step in as necessary to assist with other assignments or inform us immediately when her task were completed and ask for more. Our entire team quickly acknowledged Caitlyn's abilities to lead and mentor, as she rallied and challenged our other student workers to join in and inspire a team mentality for a fun, healthy and accomplished work environment for all. I am so thankful for the life lessons that Caitlyn taught me "when the teacher becomes the student". As well as being thankful for our forever friendship we developed and are maintaining and I have no doubt in this endorsement that she would increase any team with her many talents and abilities! Best wishes my friend for all of life's treasures and Blessings Caitlyn, you've earned them! Rhoda

It's amazing to me how a simple hotel stay can make such a difference in peoples lives. Since working at the hotel there have been people staying with us because their houses have been destroyed (specifically last summer when all of the flooding that happened in Florida). We also partner with cancer patients to help them pay for their stay while they undergo treatment. Not to mention countless weddings, anniversaries, families and organizations that stay with us. Hotels hold so much happiness and sorrow during any given day and I have been able to help guests through every experience. Show less

I wanted to intern here because I was interested in pursuing Nonprofit Management. I feel like this was a great experience because this job was my first experience that I have had with an unsuccessful project. I learned ultimately that we needed more time to complete the project amongst other things. Not all was lost however, Collaboration for Good plans to use the information and format that I had compiled during the internship to use to complete the project. Alnisa, my supervisor, gave me a recommendation from this experience that you can view at the bottom of my page. Show less

I enjoyed having an employer that split all of the work with me. I wasn't just a student help, but a partner, so I knew exactly how much work went into the job. When I was planning events I was given the ability to grow and realize how many small details go into one big thing. But it was worth it when I got to meet guests and see how much my events changed their lives.I had a guest who came to one of my Experience Madison College events, and she told me that she had almost finished two different degrees at two different schools. Both instances the college closed due to lack of funding, so she lost her credits, time, and money. But she picked herself up and started over again. She came to Madison College and I took pleasure in knowing that I was able to tell her that we would not close and she would get her degree. Show less

    • Student Recruiter
      • May 2016 - Aug 2016

I moved into the Student Recruiter role because I was able to have more consistent hours during the summer, while doing similar work to a Student Ambassador. However, there was more clerical/office work to do and that is when I realized that I enjoyed doing behind the scenes organizing/planning to help an event come together.

    • Student Ambassador
      • Aug 2014 - Apr 2016

I love being a student ambassador because when I gave tours to prospective students there were so many instances where parents and students were skeptical about a technical college for themselves/their child and I was able to be the influence to change their mind.
