      - Tutoring students from the schooling year of grade 5 to grade 12, as well as UAP students. - HSC Sciences and Mathematics - Student mentoring - First initial challenge- grade 8 student that was only averaging in the low 50%, after 3 months of my tutoring, her grades had increased dramatically to 90-95% to which the school also moved her up into a higher class. - A further, greater challenge was a student given to me by the head of the math department. The year 12 student had decided to drop to standard math after he had received poor grades for his year 11 final. This meant that he and I were given a few months to teach him the entire year 11 curriculum before his exams. It was a stressful, but successful feat. He not only received 91.6% in his final HSC Mathematics, he has continued to study biomedical science. - in late 2018, a friend of mine approached me asking for assistance in their UAP course subjects. He has been a gas detection officer in various mines for almost 10 years but wished to change industry. I assisted him with all subjects in the course (Math, Chemistry and English). This was a bit of a slow start due to him not studying for over 9 years as well as his mild dyslexia, however his results were fantastic with a distinction average. - A continued achievement has been with my year 8 student. I have tutored her intermittently for math since she was in year 5. Last year her mathematics final grade was above 90% with her also receiving DUX for that year. Although these are all individual students and their achievements through my assistance, the ‘light bulb’ moments are the most inspirational. To be able to give a student the ability to understand an otherwise impossible concept gives me drive Show less

This project was to potentially create a biodegradable and compatible ‘patch’ that could be adhered during major surgery, in which the patient could be placed within an MRI to be able to increase their healing capability by 10-1. The production of this was developed via various techniques. The intricacies of the materials used as well as the procedures and instruments, required Within my purview was researching, identifying and sourcing the scientific instruments required for the various instrumental analysis of my research. Under the supervision of Professor Michael Higgins: • Contributing to research in the development of materials for medicinal applications • Laboratory development and testing of magneto-electric coupled materials • Application of accurate analytical techniques • Experience and understanding the use of Scanning Electron Microscope and Atomic Force Microscope • Handling and using hazardous materials and equipment Although this was a part of my course work for the duel university sessions (autumn and spring) I found such inspiration, that on my own accord and within my own time, I continued this research as a contribution to the overall outcome of the project and potential Professor Michael Higgins is: • ARC Australian Research Fellow • Program Leader and Chief Investigator – ARC BlueScope Hub • Senior Research Fellow – Intelligent Polymer Research Institute Show less
