Working full-time as a teacher of mathematics at Loughborough High School, teaching girls aged 11 to 18. I am able to plan, deliver and reflect upon high quality mathematics lessons, including IGCSE and A-Level, using an inclusive teaching approach to maximise learning within the classroom. This may include using Dr Frost Maths, Desmos, Integral and more. I am currently positioned as a Year 7 form tutor, where I thoroughly enjoy using my positive and welcoming touch to integrate new students into the school, while dealing with sensitive issues with full confidentiality and within strict safeguarding guidelines. Additionally, I volunteer as a swimming assistant once a week before the school day, helping to coach the school swimming teams, using my previous swim teaching qualifications and experience. Finally, I am a proactive, enthusiastic and caring teacher who always puts student learning at the forefront and willing to fully immerse myself into school life and any voluntary opportunities I may be able to assist with. Two, separate, 11-week placements at Ibstock Community College and Chellaston Academy, working with supportive mentors, allowed me to enhance my teaching, confidentiality and student-interaction skills to a high level. When working additional shifts as a lifeguard, monitored the pool by ensuring pool rules were followed, provided a safe environment and used cleaning materials safely.
