I am in charge of designing and teaching an engaging and inclusive art Curriculum for grades 6-8. At the San Francisco day School, we introduce a large range of mediums varying from wood working, painting, design, ceramics, mixed media, print making, digital and more. While introducing these mediums, I know that it will not peek everyones interest, so I offer a range of options with each project. That way the students have control over what they get to engage in and learn. I am in charge of designing and teaching an engaging and inclusive art Curriculum for grades 6-8. The Hamlin School is an Independant all girls school ranging from grades K-8. I was responsible for co-teaching Art to grades K-4. I was in charge of creating cross-curicular art projects, while also freeing them from the pressure to get things “right.” I was able to create an environment where students were comfortable taking risks and learned from exploration. Each year students would have projects in varying mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, print making, nature art, animation, art history, and more. I was also responsible for the planning, ordering, and organizing of supplies; planning and organizing art related field trips; social and emotional learning; supervising outdoor education field trips; and handling whatever else comes with a professional and team player mentality.

Engage IQ is a market research company, and I was their Lead Designer. I was in charge of creating and implementing designs for web, app, emails, business cards, etc. that would be engaging to the target audience. I would start off every project researching the target audience, competing companies that have found success, and conducting focus groups. I would then combine the information I found with my research with my skills and knowledge in color theory, design, and typography to design several different web platforms, apps, email flyers, etc that would effectively engage the audience. After sending the designs over to the programing team, I would look over the final product and make sure there were no errors made in the process. I would, then, record every change we made as well as results of those changes, so the company and I could have a clear understanding of what tactics proved to be successful versus what tactics were less successful. This company's profits heavily relied upon the interaction between a person our site. The longer a person interacted with our surveys, the more we would get paid. Thus, my research and design were detrimental to our profits. Using my strong research skills and knowledge of design, I was able to triple our companies profits by creating fun and interactive platforms that were entertaining to the target audience.
