Community Development Volunteer
-
Feb 2019 - Oct 2019
Completed a three month volunteer placement with the International Citizen Service focused on education and livelihoods in a small community in Nepal. As part of the placement, I delivered school sessions to children on CV building and team work, held events with various community groups, such as menstrual hygiene sessions and sanitary pad making workshops with the local women's group, and a careers fayre with the local school, as well as wider community projects such as a litter pick and first aid training sessions. The placement worked closely with the community to follow their needs. Furthermore, as part of the programme I was able to fundraise £800 for the charity and completed an Action at Home, which involved an awareness raising event in London on the damages of single use plastic.
