The role involves caring and being responsible for children, planning and implementing creative activities and enforcing good behaviour and manners. I have skills in communicating and building a good rapport with children of a range of ages. I have developed an understanding of child development through watching their experiences and learning. I am proud to be a part of their development and providing support. A few children have learning disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). These children need some extra support which I give as well as promoting understanding and inclusion amongst the other children. I am used to on-the-spot problem solving and managing difficult and intense situations while also maintaining calm and control. Show less

I was awarded this role due to my involvement in the year on employment program. Being one of very few people to gain a year in employment within the NHS within psychology my role was to help others in finding a placement and supporting any applications. As part of my role I ran a successful placement year event and liaised with the psychology department about way to better promote the scheme and increase student engagement.
