Aug 2008 - Present
I started at the charter management organization (CMO) Envision Education as a special education teacher at City Arts and Technology High School in 2008. I became the Lead Learning Specialist in 2009 and became the Program Specialist for the Special Education Department at Envision in 2012. As Program Specialist I oversee the special education program at 3 Bay Area urban, charter high schools that all operate as individual Local Education Agencies (LEAs). All 3 schools are members of El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) Charter Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). Envision was a founding partner in the EDCOE Charter SELPA and has helped to pioneer in-house special education at charter schools in California.

As a special education teacher intern, I began at Kearny High School as a teacher for Emotionally Disturbed students. I worked as a co-teacher as all student's were fully included in the general education environment. After 1 year a Kearny my position was bumped and I transferred to New Dawn High School, which is a district Day Treatment Program for emotionally disturbed students.
