As an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT), I oversaw the work of over 200 first-year high school students per year, of varying English level. I tailored lessons to the students' needs and interests. I used my powers of creativity to design worksheets and activities that kept students' attention and encouraged them to use English actively. With a little bit of ingenuity, I was able to find ways of getting even the shyest students to attempt communication--such as establishing a mailbox for students to leave me comments and questions written in English. My ability to live and work comfortably in Japan speaks to my adaptability to new situations. Also, I work constantly to improve. Show less
