    • Tour Guide
      • Oct 2012 - Aug 2013

As an Africa Tram Safari Tour Operator and Guide, I give several 30 minute tours to groups of roughly 100 people a day, and drive a Ford 4-trailer tram around a 2.5 mile pathway surrounding roughly 50 different species of African animals and birds. We travel through three sections of Africa: East, Central and North. Each area is the home to different species of antelope, rhinos, giraffes, cheetahs, etc. My tours must be different each time depending on animal activity. I have acquired a vast amount of biological knowledge to succeed at this position. In these tours, I combine humor, stories, facts about conservation, and animal information to create what I hope to be a lifelong memory for each individual I take out on an American version of an African Safari. • Segway Safety Guide
      • Oct 2012 - Dec 2012

Member of the Rolling Safari crew at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. I was not a main guide, but a tail/safety guide. I would teach people how to ride off road Segways, and would keep an eye on people making sure they were safe on the tour. My main role was to make sure people felt safe riding a Segway. The Safari Park discontinued the tour at the end of December of 2012.

    • Administrative Assistant
      • May 2012 - Sep 2012

As the Administrative Assistant for the Guest Experience Department at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, I mainly organized and gathered various types of park info and statistics, gave out information to guests inquiring ADA accessible options, and was the go-to person for various odd jobs. I would make monthly posters with different themes that were placed in break rooms throughout the park. These posters were designed to inspire and encourage employees. I also kept track of and organized guest comments (this includes creating graphs), and tour refunds. I would also arrange for ASL interpreters to accompany guests who were hard of hearing. Various odd jobs included making power point presentations for meetings, setting up meetings, ordering food, and making sure the office was presentable, professional and welcoming. Show less

    • Guest Ambassador
      • May 2008 - Jan 2012

A Guest Ambassador is the face of the Safari Park. Taking tickets at the turnstiles at the front of the park, running the carousel, ushering shows and helping people find their way are the main duties of a Guest Ambassador. I had to know the park inside and out. I had this position every summer and winter I would come home from college. A Guest Ambassador is the face of the Safari Park.
