      I have worked directly with my advisor on two independent research projects:1. Explosive Seed Dispersal of Leafy SpurgePerformed nearly all experiments associated with the project and worked closely with my advisor to discuss project direction and analyze results. Specifically, I collected seed pods, performed high-speed imaging of pod rupture, used saturated salts to correlate relative humidity with pod rupture, prepared pods for MRI, microCT, and SEM imaging, used 3D image files for 3D printing, and performed multiple stereomicroscope experiments to measure pod deformation and cell deformation in response to humidity changes. I have written the first draft of a manuscript, and I will be first author on the published paper.2. Health Concerns of Washing Raw ChickenDesigned and tested sterile water system with adjustable faucet height and flowrate. Used this system to analyze splash patterns using high-speed imaging and MATLAB particle tracking. Planned and assisted with biological experiments to analyze bacteria splashing from chicken including DNA extraction, sample isolation, and 16s Sanger sequencing. Will be an author on the published paper
