  When I was called to work at BMR Medical R&D department I saw the opportunity to have a bigger influence in the final product results by acting deeper in development phases that I could have working in a design studio, I had to learn fast the regulamentation aspects that rules the medical device industry. I started as Design Engineer and became Lead Designer, as the first company’s designer I had the opportunity to grow an international and multidisciplinary team, the company’s design culture and expand my actions into manufacturing, supply chain and regulatory fields. In addition to develop devices from research to manufacturing as a Design Engineer I implemented and manage: a Prototyping Lab with 3D printing and CNC machines, a process to project and produce a patient custom cranioplasty implants, the company’s Product development process that incorporate Design controls and Risk management processes, the Usability engineering process, a standard design and procedure for the creation of labelling, packaging and instructions for use, a system and workflow to control the product development files. At BMR Medical we designed and manufacture medical devices for our brand and clients, we won 3 times the Brazil Design Award with design projects. Show less

  One of my aspirations is to be a Design Professor and I decided to don’t wait for an opportunity, while I was acting as Industrial designer at Megabox Design I created a company to offer design courses to fill the lacks of knowledge in university design formation. I started with the creation of a Design for Manufacturing track, a 60 hours course with 7 different teachers comming from university, industry and design studios. The first edition was a success and then I created more courses using the same format to complement our board. Until nowadays I was able to conclude 8 courses and contribute with the formation of more than 70 professionals. I’m also using the Aocubo Design to act as a freelance designer and help small companies and startups to turn their ideas into real products trough customized and economically viable projects, drived by the market needs and focused on users.   At Megabox Design, we mould our design culture by incorporating rhetorics and dialectical approaches in our group activities like brainstorming, design thinking and design reviews. During my professional evolution I stood out to be capable of acting in design projects from concept to engineering phases fastly. Project by project, I had been put in more complex works each time, incorporating new methods as needed and going deep into new challenges, help in the increasing of the studio capability of bring value to their clients' products through design was really satisfying for me, by the way, we won 10 design prizes including IF Design and Brazil Design Awards. I was in charge of some interns and actively took part in the moulding and improvement of the internal design process. I’m really grateful to have had the opportunity to work at Megabox Design because I could work with more than 60 different design projects, I improved myself as a designer, evolved my capabilities and skills to be able to work fast, systematically and assertively.
