I complete daily deliverables from my supervisor, which entail upkeep and enhancement of ourprojects. Most recently, my job was to develop and maintain a data management app for a leading financial company. This app was related to the transparency of data permissions shared throughout the company and is in continuous use by executive management. Additionally, I focus on refactoring my team's projects to create dumb & reusable components for future projects. In my spare time, I guide our interns in the development of skills related to web development. Relevant languages/frameworks: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Svelte, Vue, VueX, Strapi, and Quasar.

This position entails direct oversight of all teachers of grades 7 – 12 and ensuring that each student’s needs are being met and cared for. I also taught psychology, film studies, and logic at the same time. ● Oversaw an increase in students of 100% after the first year. ● Cut costs of upper school staff by more than 25% in our first year by absorbing several teaching positions as well as this assistant headmaster position for no additional pay. ● Implemented a mentoring program that I began in Beijing, that has resulted in at least a whole letter grade increase for each student involved.

Vice Principal and Co-Founder

Jun 2015 - Aug 2017
Successfully started a branch campus in Beijing with but one location in a provincial city in the USA that nobody in Beijing had heard of (Chesapeake) ● Increased student body by 300% after the first year and hired a capable and competent staff to match this. ● Implemented an SAT Prep program in 2016 which has resulted in our Beijing students having the highest SAT average of all our campuses: 1350 (out of 1600). ● After two years, I left the campus with a sustainable model and a staff who knew how to run the campus well without my physically being there.

Teacher (Psychology, Film Studies, Logic)
-
Jun 2015 - Aug 2017
In addition to being in administration on our Beijing campus, I also taught three courses each year. ● Through teaching psychology, successfully imparted the importance of mental health and wellbeing to Chinese students who live in a culture that does not seem to consider it at all. ● Through teaching film studies, exposed Chinese students to global cinema that was distinct from the blockbusters they are used to. Additionally, showed them the history of cinema and several ways with which to critique it, including how to be conscious of gender, race, and other forms of representation in art. ● Through teaching logic, enabled students to embark on a journey into critical thought. Chinese high school students generally don’t use critical thinking to engage with their environment as rote memorization is still central to their learning at this point. This class allowed them to not only learn how to create thoughtful and strong arguments but it also allowed room for independent creative expression.
