  As part of my licensure process, I was a student teacher in a 3rd grade classroom in Des Plaines, Illinois. Through my placement, I gained a wide breadth of knowledge surrounding elementary education, classroom management, and hybrid learning. Building relationships with my students and developing their social and emotional skills was my favorite aspect of student teaching by far.

  Camp Galileo is a day camp where students work on week-long science and engineering projects that foster growth mindset, collaboration, and innovation. I worked there in the summer of 2019 as the extended care coordinator, where I organized and ran the afternoon extended care service. I created and led group learning activities for students from Pre-K to 5th grade.
