  This group characterizes soil profiles and completes risk assessments for municipal infrastructure. In October of 2021, we placed 3rd in the Southeastern region, advancing us to the national competition which took place in April of 2022.

  During the summer of 2022, I was a part of a summer internship at the University of Sevilla in Spain in partnership with the CSIC. Dr. Juan Carlos Melgar put together the FLORECE program (FUTURE LEADERS OBTAINING RESEARCH & EXTENSION CAREER EXPERIENCES) at Clemson University. I worked under Dr. José A. González-Pérez on the effects of temperature on carbon isotopes in soil under managed agroforest ecosystems.
