Researches macrophage-dependent signaling mechanisms that modulate immune-mediated vascular remodeling in the context of atherosclerosis, atherosclerotic calcification, and arteriogenesis. My focus includes translational studies, evaluating the role of GTPase Rac1 in the expression of mature IL-1b in the progression of atherosclerosis in mouse models and human patients. Some notable techniques include immunofluorescence microscopy, small animal genetics, bone marrow macrophage culture, human monocyte isolation, cytokine ELISA, and plasmid transfection. Show less
