I can count five individuals who had a dramatic impact on the success of my team at 1st Marine Raider Battalion and Bryan was one of them. A dynamic leader, Bryan looks to share his knowledge and experiences in a completely unselfish manner. At all times, he looks to gain the initiative and bring all around him to operate at a higher level. His advice, insight and assistance had a profound impact on the way I approached a unique problem set and ultimately led to shared success.

Helmand Valley Growers Company was founded by United States Special Operations Veterans (Marine Raiders). Since its inception, HVGC has been in discussions with some of the cannabis industry’s top researchers and has developed a veteran based protocol to effectively prove the benefits of medical cannabis. As a service disabled veteran owned business, HVGC is intimately aware of the daily challenges that our fellow veteran brothers and sisters face as a result of their time spent on the battlefield. Some of these wounds are not visible to the naked eye. Our country is facing a wide-scale opioid epidemic that has taken countless lives; not excluded from this crisis, the veteran community has been critically impacted. When the U.S. Military deploys to the combat theater, roughly 60% of those deployed will be prescribed opioids upon return to the United States, and over half will develop a dependency/addiction. This has caused far too many vets to lose their way, and in an ever-increasing pandemic, take their own lives. HVGC began its outreach into the veteran community by observing first-hand and listening to the suffering of our veterans. We knew right then that our cause was worthy; and that our mission was defined. Our next step moved us into researching medical cannabis and speaking with the top experts in the field. As our research progressed, the answer to this crisis became clear: develop alternate medical solutions for those suffering with pain, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, sleep disorders, and most critically, are at significant risk of suicide. We care about those who suffer and believe that medical cannabis is the way of the future to help those in need. The recreational cannabis and branding will be used to assist in accomplishing these goals and ultimately serve as a profit center for HVGC. Show less

There is a complex challenge facing our nation’s veterans: a striking number are taking their lives, the medical care offered through standard treatment facilities are often addictive, opiate based substances, and many find themselves stagnated from impactful community and meaningful economic growth. Concerned for our own, we are unable to ignore the plight of our fellow veterans returning home from combat. The Battle Brothers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that achieves it’s objectives by focusing on a simple, threefold approach: personal, medical and economic: 1. Battle Brothers places veterans in individual and community based mentorship programs as a pillar for personal development. 2. Battle Brothers supports non-opiate based treatment methodologies (i.e. non-psychoactive – cannabis based) for both physical and psychological injuries related to military combat and service, including: PTSD, TBI, alcoholism, acute pain and trauma. 3. Battle Brothers believes in dignity through labor, and paving the way for economic growth through apprenticeship trade programs and burgeoning positions in American industry. We help place veterans at the forefront of financial growth sectors as a mechanism for economic growth and personal upward mobility. The Battle Brothers Foundation accomplishes our threefold approach through the following: 1. Placing veterans in one-on-one mentorship programs, and assigns them a Battle Brother, with the intent of personal and community bonding accelerating their individual development and growth. 2. Offering non-opiate based medical care through ulterior treatments. 3. Placing qualified veterans in a 2-year apprenticeship-training program that pay an average of $45,000/year (location dependent), replicable on a national scale. Show less

The Basic School (TBS) is where all newly commissioned and appointed (for warrant officers) United States Marine Corps officers are taught the basics of being an officer of Marines. TBS Officer Basic Course currently lasts 28 weeks, during which new officers are given classroom, field, and practical application training on weapons, tactics, leadership and protocol. Candidates are commissioned from the Naval Academy, NROTC, and other Officer Candidate School (OCS) routes. During TBS, the officers are selected for a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS), including, amongst others, Infantry, Military Police, and Naval Aviator. Following TBS, the officer will attend one or more additional schools to be trained in their specialty, and then assigned to a unit in the Fleet Marine Force. The Basic School is at Camp Barrett, Quantico, Virginia, in the south-west of the Marine Corps Base Quantico complex. Each year over 1,700 new officers are trained. The course has training in the classroom and in the field. Classroom events include platform instruction, tactical decision games (TDGs), sand table exercises (STEXs), decision-forcing cases, and small group discussions. There are various field events, beginning with fireteam and squad level, and progressing to platoon-reinforced and company-sized events. The field events consist of realistic blank-fire training and live fire ranges. Show less
