B.T. worked as project manager for two different strategic projects in Boones Mill: a CDBG planning grant with DHCD and a train depot renovation with VDOT. Both projects are progressing well, in large part to his interdisciplinary leadership. He helped me manage a complex stakeholder network of engineers, state officials, and local residents and volunteers. It's not easy to keep multiple grant-funded projects on schedule, under budget, and in compliance, but that what B.T. did. B.T. consistently applies urban planning knowledge to seek big-picture relationships among moving parts. More importantly, he sees relationships as vital and goes the extra mile --literally, in the case of rural site visits --to understand different perspectives and prevent people problems. Whether in the public or private sector, engineering and project management teams need people like B.T. For that matter, so do long-range planning units and nonprofit leadership teams. He helps the team succeed!

B.T. is so down to earth and enthusiastic about strategic planning and using technology to improve day to day business processes. He has a positive attitude and is able to solve problems quickly engaging team members to participate and try new ideas. I highly recommend B.T. for any job that needs a hard worker and a person that is willing to give 100%.

The Town of Boones Mill, "A Virginia's Blue Ridge Community," located in Franklin County, Virginia, was originally developed around the site of a mill established by the Boone family in 1786. The Town was incorporated in 1927, encompassing approximately 525 acres. The original Town boundary has not changed. With a population of approximately 250 people, the Town is one of the smallest localities in the State of Virginia and one of only two municipalities in Franklin County. It is home to several locally-owned businesses and food establishments.I serve as Town Manager, responsible for implementing the vision and directives of the Town Council and serving the residents of the Town. Supporting Town staff, coordinating with community groups and agency partners are other important activities of which I am a part of. A key point I stress is TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More!Other duties include property sales, property management, utility infrastructure, grant implementation, drafting, revising, and enforcing town code, wayfinding, FEMA disaster recovery, website development and maintenance, human resources, public safety, working with legal counsel, regional tourism efforts, and contract negotiation/administration.
