During her tenure at the Denver Flagship REI Co-op Brittany also supported the retail operations team in a variety of roles.In September of 2019 Brittany spent a week in Farmington, Utah supporting a new store opening. Brittany was assistant to the store manager to handle any problems during grand opening prep week and weekend that could pop up, directed new employees during training, oversaw last minute installs, and worked as a liaison with the visual merchandise team to get the store prepared.During the Summer of 2020 REI permanently closed its Westminster, Colorado store. Brittany worked with two Project Managers to provide emotional support to staff, direct the team to ensure accurate inventory reallocation, and plan the removal of all fixtures and hardware. In the Fall of 2020 Brittany spent time in Billings, Montana in a multi-support role to successfully open a new REI location during the COVID pandemic. Brittany worked with HQ partners to support the opening of the first REI location without Asset Protection, IT, and the Project Manager on site. Brittany worked with the new store team, lead the GoTeam trained support staff, and opened the location.The summer of 2021 provided new challenges as Brittany performed her store duties with little time away to fully decommissioned REI's Cherry Creek Boathouse. Brittany build out a project plan, created a team, and relocated all hardware, IT supplies, fixtures, and product to nearby stores to reduce waste and increase used gear sales. Brittany flipped three mobile storage trailers by selling two and registering the third to be utilized in a first of its kind Bike Shop check-in outside of the Denver Flagship location. Show less

Sales Operations Manager

Brittany was transferred to the largest REI store in the state and soon to be largest in the company. After a brief stint overseeing the apparel department and quickly running lead on hiring of staff to get through the holiday season Brittany transitioned to Manage the Shipping and Receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment team. During this time Brittany worked with staff and other Sales Managers to use Kaizen to work through troublesome areas in store and create processes to reduce waste including increased shipment, truck processing SOP, damaged return SOP and recycle and plastic dunnage implementation. Brittany's team redesigned warehouse space to increase flow to the sales floor and maximize productivity. This transitioned into turning a non-customer facing area into new selling space in order to regularly sell used gear providing member value benefits and reducing the labor cost of processing. Brittany partnered with HQ project managers to test and support a rollout for increased productivity and customer availability via a store restock process and redesign payroll tracking and allocations.Brittany led a team of roughly 50 employees including interviewing, hiring, training, and providing regular check-ins, development and coaching. During her tenure as a Sales Manager, Brittany found herself working in three different REI locations along the front range utilizing her broad skillset to support these stores.At the Westminster, Colorado location Brittany led the recruiting and hiring process while redesigning employee onboarding and training to increase retention and quickly transition hourly sales staff into other departments.In the Lakewood, Colorado location Brittany created a partnership with LEAP Transition services of Jefferson County to support disabled youth with work experience. Brittany worked to train the stores Sales Managers in how to properly schedule and manage their payroll allocations to meet business needs while staying within their allotted budget. At the Denver REI Flagship location Brittany worked with other Sales Managers to design scheduling practices that allowed staff to be properly trained to meet the business need while providing both employee work life balance and customer support.Brittany is a 7x REI Anderson Award Nominee and was selected as part of REI's Climb for a Cause Summit in 2017.
