I had the opportunity to attend two weeks of work experience in the London office of Herzog & de Meuron where I was able to experience working life in the office, I was also able to get involved in a few tasks in the office, as well as having the opportunity to learn about previous projects from some of the architects involved. Working for Owl and Sewing Cat involved serving customers in the shop, over the phone and behind the till. I have helped to run sewing workshops when required with both adults and young children. I also have experience in shipping products as well as making/sewing samples for the shop. I have also attended business trips to Germany and Birmingham to select new stock for the shop. This opportunity allowed to me to experience working in a firm and how to liaise with clients, contractors and colleges. I was shown the basics of SketchUp software as I produced a drawing of an existing building, which I then transferred into a model. I viewed the process of design from drawing in the office through to the final stages of construction on site, speaking with both architects and clients.
