  At difficult times during the financial crises I was appointed "customer representative"​ (ombudsman) by the Board of Directors at Arion bank. The role was created at the request of the Icelandic Government to support the financial restructuring of companies. I participated in the development of procedures for financial restructuring and advised the board, managers and customers on best practice and fair treatment. I was the banks representative in the cooperation of financial institutions in making "Common Rules on Financial Restructuring", lead by the Icelandic Financial Services Association and proceeded in close contact with the parliamentary commissions. I took an active role in the presentation of methods used in the extensive project of restructuring a large part of Icelandic Companies, the purpose being to support value preserving and trust building.
