  As an Intern placed at Kalahari Resorts and Convention, in multiple departments, within various positions (Housekeeping Supervisor and Laundry Attendant, Front Desk Agent, Guest Services Phone Operator, Bell Service Attendant, Banquet Server) had the opportunity to develop industry-related knowledge, skills, and competency, which helped to link academic theory to practice in the hospitality field. The internship positions expanded the depth and breadth of academic learning through challenging and meaningful activities, while delivering awareness and the techniques to deal with organizational issues. The internship assisted with further developing self-efficacy, maturity, professional and personal values, professional attitudes and behaviors, strengths, and interests. Strong professional networking and mentoring relationships were established.
