  Raitong Organics Farm Co., Ltd. was formally established in 2012 in Thailand to help improve the quality of life or rice farmers through fair pricing and better market access, additional income generation through alternative crop planning during the rice off-season and job creation within the communities, and promoting self-sustainability. Some of the notable achievements of Raitong to date include: - The first farm in Sisaket to achieve international organic certification (2009), and maintained EU / Canadian / IFOAM certification ever since (2009) - Development and implementation of the largest CSA home delivery scheme for organic fruit and vegetables in Bangkok to date (CSA Munching Box), supporting some 150 farmers around the country (2012-2014) - Development and implementation of food//hack, a series of food workshops in Bangkok that brought enthusiasts together to better understand what they were eating (2012-2014) - Development and sales of the first 100% natural brewed (non-alcoholic) and pasteurised gingerbeer in SE Asia (“Ginger Fizz”) (2015) - The first organic rice farm in Thailand to implement the Australian Biodynamic farming system, with noticeable improvements in soybean and mungbean harvests (2016/2017) and current trials under way for organic jasmine rice (2016) - The first farm in Thailand to commercially cultivate the NK6 x Hom Mali 105 fragrant sticky rice variety, recently developed by Mae Jo University (2017) - Development of a zero-waste piggery management system, based on Korean Natural Farming techniques, incl. direct-to-market sales for the resulting pigs. Work is currently underway to scale up the pilot system, and develop a farmer pig cooperative (2016/2017) - Development of a pilot farm/household waste management system for raising black soldier fly larvae, that produces high quality pelletised animal feed (primarily poultry, fish and frogs) (2016) - Development of a range of functional organic babyfoods and rice-based pasta (2017) Show less
