Goal: Maintain and improve quality/efficiency of production in order to minimize costs through Project Management, Process and product improvement. Project Management -Implement Vision system and automatic check weigh systems to existing packaging process Inspect the parts before packaging by using two cameras, one to check the height and the other the shape and color of the parts. Bad parts are blown off into a reject bin and good parts are passed through to be packaged. Packaged parts go through a weight check to make sure the correct amount of parts are in the package. Packages are counted for final customer packaging. -Product surface quality improvement looking at a total process review domestically and internationally. Review processes on site, shipment concerns, and secondary manufacturing processes. -Lead a group in preventing rust on product. Investigate the main issue and create timely action plans to eliminate the issue. -Source new wire drawing equipment that will exceed the expected quality standards. Lead team in finding vendors and work with the vendors to provide machinery to meet our requirements along with improve product quality and process efficiency. Manage process resources -Source and Re-order materials domestically and internationally Optimize current processes -Packaging products -Improving capability and maintaining annealing furnace for steel wire. Decreased duration and consumable usage. -Redesign labelling on packaging by creating a database and operator friendly input system -Update databases (MS Access and MS Excel) for printing applications. Reduce operator input/intervention. Maintain process documents -Update SOP/QSP with new standards and processes -Create "how to" documents that are easy to follow for a range of processes from designing a label to running the furnace.
