As Director of Admissions I served as a senior member of the management team. I developed and managed student admissions policy and processes for one of only three public boarding schools in the United States. I oversaw all aspects of enrollment management to include: identification, recruitment, selection, and enrollment for the institution. I cultivated positive relationships with 80+ elementary schools, parent organizations and local community organizations while managing three professionals and one AmeriCorps staff member while managing an annual budget of $325,000. As Director of Guidance & College Counseling I oversaw the college admission process for all students. I advised and supported students and families with personalized college counseling. I created a college curriculum from scratch. This included: policy, and strategy for students and their parents’ grades 6-12; and implementationof the first College Boot Camp (A one-week college prep course for rising seniors that included three days of college visits). Senior Program Mamager I directed all aspects of CTY Scholars program which included: managing a budget of $1.1M annually; directly supervising CTY Scholars Educational Advisors, senior staff who were based in Baltimore (4 staff) and Los Angeles (3 staff); and worked closely with CTY development staff to assure compliance with donor requirements, steward existing donors, and new efforts to attract new funding. Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions Planned and executed long-range diversity recruitment strategies for the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences (CALS) at Cornell University. This included: conducting college/university information sessions and application workshops; reviewing and evaluating the academic qualifications of 900+ freshmen and transfer student applications annually; and reviewing/updating community college articulation agreements. I successfully multi-tasked in a large decentralized non-traditional higher educational organization. I served on several intra-university programs such as, Minority Open House Weekend, Multicultural Visitation Program and Pre-Freshman Summer Program. I conducted a Communications Audit and instituted a new multi-tiered mailings and communications matrix. I created the ILR Minority Alumni advisory group that helped raise funds for minority initiatives and advise the Dean on diversity issues as it relates to the Capital Campaign. This lead to $200,000.00 in gifts from the ILR Dean’s Alumni Advisory Council for diversity initiatives.
