Process Technologist

Sep 2010 - Sep 2013
Process support of 5 manufacturing lines. Producing a variety of snacks and crackers using many different processes. Including mixing, machining baking, flavour addition (powder and liquid), wheat berry processing, steam cooking etc. My main role was to support these different lines by analysing performance through financial, waste, product quality ingredient quality and customer delivery. Then with this information I would work to reduce areas of poor performance by ensuring we were processing correctly and also making engineering changes where we were unable to process the products to the level of accuracy or range required. I was also responsible for assisting and carrying out all trials that occurred on my lines, which included new ingredients, new processing methods and new products and their launches. This involved close planning with ingredient, NPD (new product development) and planning teams to ensure that we achieved the best possible results within the given trial. As well as this support role I was also involved in packaging where I was responsible for the glue and the tape that was used on site for sealing our products. As part of this I had to carry out trials with various different glue solutions when both (liquid and hot melt glues) the glues that we used on site were de-listed at short notice by our supplier.
