Tolmar Pharmaceuticals is a Urology Specialty organization focusing on advanced prostate cancer. I am responsible for selling a product via the "buy and bill" sales model to territory Urologic Surgeons and Oncologists in both the out patient and hospital settings. I am also responsible for getting our product on hospital formulary so it can be prescribed and dispensed from the hospital systems. This unique role as Account Manager truly is an "Account Manager" role as it does not just involve selling of the product. There are days where I am only making sales calls to targeted customers while there are other days where I am performing teaching in-services to train physicians and staff on how to properly administer our product. I am also involved in setting up purchasing agreements so accounts and hospital systems have access to our product through distributors or GPOs. Meeting with pharmacy directors and other P&T committee members is also crucial to the success of the position as it is imperative to gain formulary access on the hospital systems formulary. Auxilium Pharmaceuticals acquired Timm Medical Technologies in May 2013, therefore causing a change in territory and product portfolio. While at Timm Medical Technologies I was responsible for selling a medical device to territory Urologists. I was also responsible for meeting with patients one on one in physician exam rooms to consult and education them on proper use of the device. Lastly, I was responsible for expediting the ordering process of the device for the patient and office. After the acquisition and move to the Washington DC/Virginia territory I was shifted over to the Men's Health division selling an implantable pellet for testosterone replacement. This is sold via the buy and bill method to area urologists and large hospital systems.
