Company and Commercial Solicitor
-
Dec 2021 - Feb 2023
Upon qualifying I joined Dean Wilson’s company and commercial team. Working independently and as part of a team, my primary focus was on M&A work, largely in the estate agency sector, where I was responsible for many completions per month. I also advised clients on a wide range of other company and commercial matters from shareholders agreements to franchise agreements to NDAs and terms of business. What clients said: “Just a quick note to thank you for your tenacity, vigilance and professionalism with this difficult sale. Talk about running ‘to the wire’...Without your swift actions this would never have happened.” “I know its slightly delayed but wanted to formally thank you for everything you did for us during the sale of the [*] Business, your support and guidance was very much appreciated at all times. Should you ever need a recommendation from a prospective agency seller please just let me know.” “Just a quick thank you for getting this over the line. I have been massively impressed with your team work and response times – frankly you put other solicitors we have used in the past to shame! Very much appreciated and I hope we can use your services in the future.” “I wanted to drop a quick line to say thank you so much for your professionalism and efficiency dealing with the sale of [*]. Myself and [*] were wholly impressed and we are happy to leave a raving review if you would like to let me know what platform is best for this? Onto the next business now huh?”

Manager
-
Nov 2016 - Jul 2019
I began my placement with C&L Group of Companies in August 2016 where I held an account manager role. I was quickly promoted to Manager of the Collections team after 3 months working with C&L. I have a number of key responsibilities, primarily being functions that are delegated away from the Director to ensure there is a clear separation of powers within the Group. My day-to-day role was to ensure the collection accounts reconcile and that the overall department is following the policies and procedures that the firm implements. In addition to this, I ensure the department is aware of any internal or regulatory developments and ensure that the team is trained in all aspects of the company’s internal and external policies. I reported directly to the operations Director on a daily basis and have additional responsibilities such as interviewing potential employees, meeting with clients and managing the cases that are referred to High Court Enforcement. Alongside this, I retained an active account management role, ensuring that all management information and queries are dealt with expeditiously. This ensured the smooth and efficient running of the overall department. Upon returning to University for my final year, I maintained my managerial position within the group of companies on a part-time basis.

I worked at The Barn Café part time alongside my final months at college. I worked as part of a team to efficiently serve our valued customers. During the day, I waited on tables, effectively listening to the customers requests to ensure they all had a positive and enjoyable experience as well as making coffees and simple food items. I adapted during the evening to a diverse bar staff role. I served drinks over the bar, handed out champagne and distributed canapés, which demonstrates my ability to work under pressure and adapt to which role is most needed at the time.
