I met Brittany in 2018 when she was a relatively new transfer student in the Sustainable & Renewable Energy program at Illinois State University. Since that time, I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Brittany is several capacities through my roles as Academic Advisor, instructor for TEC 100- Professional Development in Technology, and coordinator of our departmental Student Ambassador program. I have been consistently impressed with Brittany in all our interactions and am thrilled to recommend her for a position in Sustainable & Renewable Energy. Brittany is one of the kindest and most outgoing people you will ever meet. She is incredibly friendly and approachable and loves to interact with others. Each semester, I looked forward to meeting with her because I knew she would brighten my day and we would have delightful conversation. Over the past three years, I have gotten to know her very well. Brittany is a remarkable person who embodies what it means to be a good person, student, and role model. While taking my TEC 100 course, Brittany was a standout student. She always came to class eager and ready to engage. As an instructor, it can be difficult to get students to participate in group discussions, but Brittany was always ready to put herself out there and get the ball rolling; something I appreciated more than she could ever know. Brittany was also a top student who completed all assignments on time and thoroughly. Through conversations with her other instructors, I can confirm that is her academic standard across all her courses. Brittany’s personality and academic abilities led her to be nominated and selected as a Department of Technology Student Ambassador, which is a leadership role offered in our department to twelve deserving students who we believe will be positive and helpful role models to other students- both prospective and current. As a Student Ambassador, Brittany has been very involved and has given a lot of her free time to help other students learn about our programs and resources. She has also stepped up as a leader amongst the Student Ambassadors to help organize events and social media content. All of this has made her an invaluable member of our team. All in all, Brittany Weber is a truly outstanding person and student. Our department believes that so much that we nominated her for the Bone Scholarship, the highest honor an Illinois State University undergraduate student can receive. Brittany’s application was extremely impressive, and she went on to become a Bone Scholar. Brittany is a shining example of the caliber of student we strive to have in our department. It will certainly be sad to lose her when she graduates, but on the other hand it will be wonderful knowing that she is out in the world making a difference and representing Illinois State University well. I wholeheartedly believe that Brittany Weber will achieve great things in her life and will make a positive impact on the world.

Brittany is frequently a self-starter with great motivation and enthusiasm on the subjects she works on. While her analytical ability is impressive Brittany also displayed the often more important ability to develop relationships with professors and classmates. She has been involved with the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Major’s outreach activities and had served as the president of the Renewable Energy Society at Illinois State University. Brittany stands out as one of those truly special students I will always remember. Brittany’s uncanny work ethic, ability to work with others and her splendid personality allowed her to build relationships and accomplish great success unsurpassed by the rest of her fellow classmates. Brittany is an intelligent, motivated, and conscientious student leader. Brittany is dedicatedly committed to the task of learning in the curriculum and helping others through various voluntary activities. She was the recipient of the Robert G. Bone Scholarship which is the highest honor an Illinois State University undergraduate student can receive.
