In this role, I am responsible for ensuring the success of multiple research projects, managing all project-related tasks from brief to delivery of results, and managing and mentoring other staff. This is a hands-on role and involves working closely with other staff, contractors, suppliers, and clients to manage timelines, budgets, and key project deliverables. Day to day, I am preparing research instruments, conducting literature reviews, managing ethics submissions, communicating and interpreting results for our clients, writing technical reports and journal papers, contributing to business development, and working with our team to conduct meaningful and rigorous preference research. I work within the Gambling Research and Treatment Clinic at Sydney University. My work involves conducting research studies and writing peer-reviewed journal articles and commissioned reports on a number of issues including: Gambling-related harm, fantasy sports, sports betting, electronic gaming machines, and adolescent education and prevention programs for problem gambling. I have presented my research at domestic and international conferences, and to external stakeholders. I have also collaborated to receive research grants from domestic and international gambling research funds. I sit on the Brain and Mind Centre Early Career Researcher (ECR) committee at the University of Sydney, and assist with organising social and academic events for early-stage researchers within the brain and mind sciences. My PhD work involves educating young people about how gaming machines operate, in an effort to reduce misconceptions related to their profitability and associated harm. I am passionate about providing evidence-based and theoretically-sound prevention information to young people, to encourage informed choice and reduce gambling-related harm. Show less
