This is a small hotel with less than 10 staff members. Cleaning rooms was just one of the many roles I take on. Training of new employees and j-1 students. Being a problem solver is key to a housekeeping position, dealing with different types of guest and problems it is always a great skill to be able to think on your feet to meet guest needs. I would assist in the scheduling, hiring, and firing of an employee if need be. I would inventory and ensure that the housekeeping supplies was always kept up on. Due to this being a small hotel I would also cross train in breakfast and the front desk, anywhere I could assist I would step up and offer my assistants and asked to be trained in any position I could help in. The point resort is a seasonal 5 star Forbes resort. This job showed my dedication and desire to work. All the rooms are outside, no matter the weather (rain, snow) I would have to go outside to get to each room to clean. My job was done mostly in the evening when the sun went down. This job also required you to accomplish cleaning every guest room in house within a short period of time due to the fact that we are only allowed in the guest rooms while they are at dinner, dinner was served from 7-10pm. This job sometimes required me to drive anywhere I was requested to get an item for a guest. Weather it was clothes, special food or even doing their grocery shopping. I would provide 5 star Forbes service. Which included but not limited to, cleaning guest rooms with fine detail (wash dishes, fold clothes, wash clothes ect...) Providing personalized service. Keeping up on Forbes standards attend Forbes training. I would best describe my position at the whiteface Lodge as a mix between a Butler and a maid. I would also train new employees, and fill in as the supervisor any time the supervisor wasn't there. I showed impressive leadership skills, maintaining a professional attitude while under an excessive amount of stress, I handled angry, unsatisfied guest very well, I was known as a problem solver and solution finder.
