  As an intern, I work with incarcerated individuals three months pre-release and three months post-release to provide them with a full continuum of care. After building rapport with my clients and a better understanding of their needs, I complete a discharge plan that is submitted to the Defender Association and presented to the DA and judge, who determine whether or not the client is approved for early release. To date, I have four clients that have been released and all of them have enrolled into the Community College of Philadelphia successfully. Show less

  As the On-Site Director, I was responsible for leading at team of around 50 individuals and over 200 middle school age students. I was located at the Texas A&M University site where academically talented and gifted students took advanced summer coursework. As the Director, I oversaw the academic and residential activities and served as the liaison between the Main Office in Durham, North Carolina and my site.   As a teacher, I taught over 1000 Thai students English at a beginner level weekly. My class sizes on average were about 50 students, most of whom could not speak English. Not only engaging students in the classroom, I established a presence in the community and served as an ambassador for my country.
