  I worked in Group Communications for one week. I learnt a lot about what went on behind the scenes for many of their companies. I went to lots of board meetings, for example, the Bennets Bike Insurance and learnt about the importance of social media within their company. Alongside this I had a meeting with a member of the 'CompareTheMeerkat' - compare the market and looked at their latest advertisement campaigns and ideas, as well looking at the process of animating and designing the meerkats which really interested me. As well as this meeting, I got to go to a conference, where a member of Google was giving a speech about how ideas and teamwork is important and showed us a special video about Google Glass which was very exciting. I went to board meetings and contributed ideas whilst in group coms, thinking of ideas for future charity events and ways of raising money. BGL was a fantastic place to do work experience, and was one of the eight people out of my school that got to have this experience. When I was there, I got to speak to different members of the department and discuss their role within the company and what their daily routine would be.
