Bio
Martin Kalungu-Banda
Leadership is in his bones. Brighton brings to leadership infectious passion and energy. His work and studies on environment have allowed him to be the amazing systems thinker he has been since the age of 14. With ease, Brighton sees the interconnectedness between things. It is not a surprise that he is holding the current global role he has in the United Nations system. His capacity to network and let those networks serve others is phenomenal.
Ruth Bone
Brighton is a passionate driver for change. In his teenage years he used high school radio as a tool for environmental activism, raising awareness of industrial pollution from the extractive industries of Zambia's Copperbelt. Going on to co-found Agents of Change Zambia (an NGO that mobilises environmental youth leadership), Brighton has held numerous engagements with national and international environmental organisations, and has taken to the world stage alongside policy makers and heads of state. I had the great fortune to be introduced to Brighton in 2017 while working on a Zambian biodiversity and livelihoods project. In that time Brighton has graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of Zambia and a Masters degree in Public Administration - Environmental Science and Policy- from Colombia University, New York. In addition to his professional expertise and experience, Brighton brings his innate creativity, energy and optimism to any project, and I am always pleased to find new opportunities to work with him.
